i had this camera for a long time. think it was my second film camera. it’s a huge hassle because you had to use a light meter and the view finder thingy is not very accurate, so basically you had to estimate the distance. but that being said, this camera produced the most creamy, beautiful photographs that had so much depth in it. like eating a butter scotch candy is what i’d use to describe the photographs.

i’m sorry to say that yes, i abandoned this little white leathered camera and left it to waste for almost a year. in the mean time, i had other easier cameras to play with. when i went back to it, just to check if it was still working, i was surprised that there was a roll of film in it! so i quickly got it developed and it was the pictures i took of my family vacation in cameron highlands.

right now, a roll of black and white film sits in it’s metal shell and will soon be developed. and i’m glad though that i have this camera, because as difficult as it is, none of my cameras take photographs quite like it.

the little things

and….back to my Chiang Mai adventure!! You thought it was a story finally done telling right? But no, far from it haha we haven’t even gotten to new year’s eve where we witnessed dozens of fireworks and lit our own sky lanterns.

in the middle of our trip, there was this little fun fair of sorts that was taking place — there was a barber station, arts & crafts corner, ice sodas and a sepak thakraw competition at the fair where we watched 3 girls take on 3 guys and whooped their asses with their amazingly long and high kicks.

and there was the crepes…wow, the crepes!! sunch a simple thing smeared with butter and sprinkled with rainbow rice things. It’s at times like these where I realize that happiness is many times a choice. If we had this crepe thing in Singapore, would we have loved it as much? Not if we compared it to all the other choices we have. But no, there, we chose to be joyful and grateful for the simplest things…remembering how blessed we are in too many ways to list, enjoying the company and sharing in the excitement of the people at the fair…and thus, this simple crepe of a couple of cents that is a not-bad crepe was an AMAZIN-DA-BOMB crepe!!

So I choose, I choose to count my blessings because I am blessed ;)

after having a scrumptious lunch we headed off to the caves. we were suppose to go there with the children or something…but they were still in school. right at the end when were heading off there was this little girl walking towards me and she was looking at me giving the “what is she doing?” after i snapped a couple of shots, i waved. and she broke into a cute smile and waved back <3
